“I rarely write a review, however my experience at Sweet 185 was nothing short of phenomenal. The atmosphere of the shop was very friendly and customer oriented. I know shops on King Street boast of customer service, but can treat you like an alien if you aren’t a size zero and carrying a thousand dollar purse. Not so at the charming, upscale Sweet 185. “I’m kind of particular about getting my brows done. I’ve had a master eyebrow artist spend 40 minutes tweezing one tiny hair at a time, step back to study the result and then very deliberately tweeze another hair. My brows have never looked better, but it’s a little time-consuming. As far as waxing goes, I find the whole thing kind of generic. You mostly end up with brows that match the ones on the woman doing the waxing. So, I was curious about sugaring and made an appointment at Sweet 185. Now I’m a convert. The procedure is similar to waxing, but the sugar ball is completely hypogenic and organic (so it’s good for the environment!), and it’s painless (another plus). Seeing as how I was a sugaring neophyte, the woman patiently explained its history (around since the ancient Egyptians) and how the sugar balls are made while she shaped my brows.
